Statement of Belief

The South Burlington School District places equal value upon the rights and privileges of every member of the school community and affords each member equal access and protection to a free, appropriate public education.

The District recognizes and acknowledges that:

• All students can learn and will be given an equal opportunity to learn

• Learning opportunities will be appropriate, beneficial, and meaningful to the individual student

• Learning environments will be safe, respectful, and free of prejudice

• The welfare of each member of the educational community will be valued and respected

• Whenever possible, students will be educated within the general or supplemental education system, unless they require special education
