South Burlington School District Educational Support Systems
The South Burlington community is committed to ensuring EACH STUDENT is prepared for their next step.
Each school has a support system with tiered levels of support for students. It first starts in the classroom with teachers providing universally designed instruction.
A second level may involve some supplemental support, such as extra instruction in reading or a structured study hall. The third level involves more intensive interventions that may identifying a potential disability requiring special education services.
Parents, guardians, classroom teachers, special educators, and other specialists collaborate to design unique instruction for students.
If your son or daughter is having struggles in school, it is important for him or her to understand that everyone has strengths and needs. Getting extra instruction or a different style of teaching is the way we can celebrate uniqueness. Teaching our children to respect learning diversity is a great life lesson.
