South Burlington Recreation Department
The South Burlington School District Wellness Committee was formally established in October 2015 as a group of school staff, students, and community members dedicated to nutritional, physical, mental, and social and emotional wellness in our school and greater community. The group, which meets bimonthly, has set three ongoing goals for the 2016-2017 school year: (1) Assessment (creating a site map to identify where good work is already happening and where the focus of next steps needs to be); (2) Policies and Procedures (our SBSD Wellness Policy was updated as of August 2016; our focus will now turn to updating our Procedures to allow all school opportunities to be in alignment); and (3) Communication (strategizing the most inclusive and respectful way to get information to our stakeholders in an effective way on a regular basis).
